I did the same basic mod to my air box and noticed no difference other than more whistle from the turbo, and maybe more turbo lag now.
I thought I read somewhere that Turbo Lag is just a sportsmans head start... lol

Just an update here, its been a few months, thru alot of different weather conditions, very hard rains and very dusty conditions, and all is well :up2: I would have done this on day one with this truck had I known about it.
