What Gauges?

So what are the basic requirements for a Duramax? I'm planning on boost and EGT as usual.

Do I need a third like a FP gauge?

Fill me in boys.

Fuel Press and possible Rail Pressure

fuel or rail isnt a big concern until you really get into the fueling mods, but rail pressure would be the first, if you do a good lift pump they both will come hand in hand but i would say RP would be the most important. DD

Do they make an electric gauge for rail pressure? I'd really like to not have fuel running inside my truck.

i dont think the fuel pressure gauge would work on a stock dmax since the cp3 draws its own fuel, theres no lift pump. I dont get a FP when my airdog is disconnected.

But if you were to add a lift pump then a fp gauge is needed.

I had 2 gauges for a while up until i installed my airdog.

Poost and pryo would be all you need.

i think they only make make electric rail pressure gauges, the pressure inside those things reach 27kpsi.

i dont think u want that kind of fuel funning in your cab.:ouch:

Johnny Cetane 06-25-2008 07:15 PM

yeah i forgot these new fangled ones have some crazy pressures.

jdugie123 06-26-2008 09:06 AM

it isn't bad the fuel never really gets into the cab i have disconnected my gauge before and had a towel just in case and didn't get anything coming out of it

Were talkin about rail pressure 20-27kpsi.

Not fuel pressure 12psi.

Johnny Cetane 06-27-2008 08:50 AM

OK. Boost and pyro are on their way. :choochoo: I'll hold off on the rail pressure until I get more aggressive tuning.

2500HeavyDuty 06-27-2008 10:38 AM

hold on....

You can get some of these for all kinds of stuff and add a FP gauge on the pillar when u instill a lift pump
