Plugging the LB7 FPRV

10 Attachment(s)
This is a mod to help out with having a leaky fuel rail. It can help stop the leak of fuel from a fprv that keeps on popping out on a low psi.

Tools needed:

10mm sockets and wrenches.
flex extension and magnet on a stick.
19mm wrench.
15mm socket wrench.
tap and dye set and 1/2 steel plug

Getting started:

Start off by taking off the intake and removing the belt on the truck.

now go ahead and unbolt the ac compressor and lay it to the side.

With the AC compressor out the way you can now get to the turbocharger intake horn bolts. It really helps out to have a flex extension, ratchet wrenches and magnet on a stick for removing these bolts.

Now you are able to get a clear view of the 19mm bolt that you need to modify.

When you get it out you can now go get it tapped and plugged. I used a 1/2 plug. it fits snug once u have it tapped. thanks to mr frydekcowboy for letting my use his shop to get the bolt tapped.

Tap it just deep enough so that the plug will be flush with the end of the bolt. i used some red locktite on there so it would stay on.

reinstall the bolt and trq it down to 11ft-lbs. :U:

Looks like something I should do while I am putting my SD horn on. Maybe it will cure my random rail pressure loss.

you can hold 24kpsi with w/e pw you were running set the max there for now ur truck is a monster the way it is with stock trans, you probably wont get more whit plugging it untill you get a modded regulator anyway
