Thats what will happen if the sled is not working/malfinctioning. I have seen it hapen a few times where the sled malfinctioned, but every time I have seen it they had a shut down area. Also, where was the flag man, he should have stopped that before he got 150' down the track without the weight box moving. -

x2

That is 100% the sled operators fault.

I'll bet at about the 120' mark the driver thought he was on his way to the best hook of his life. by 150' he knew he was in for a ride. -

I have not had a sled malfunction on me. But my friend has. And it just took off like a dragster but everyone got out of the way. It had plenty of room and not a hill to ramp till it eventually slowd down. -

I see that was in 1996.. There were luck that they had an experienced pull on the tractor.. and he was able to stay in front of the sled.. and actually let off and tried to start slowing down.. They had a bad accident last yr or yr before in Europe, and they lost a good puller when the weight box flipped over the front of the sled on to the tractor..

Two of our local clubs have had accidents in the past month.. one was simialar to the video above.. but the driver got stopped.. but the sled hit him hard.. when it did the weight box was in Neutral, and it slid to the top of the sled.. when it did it threw the operator of the sled out of the seat.. then the box came back down.. and throw him around again.. That was a care flight trip... The puller didn't realize what was happening until 275.. and he was moving along.. but end of the track was open.. He was brused and a little sore, but Ok..

The other accident was fatual.. and it was at an Antique Pull. A member of sled crew that was around the sled that was at the wrong place at the wrong time.. no one knew they were there.. It was a great lose to our club, and especially to family involved..

Everyone has to becareful!!!
