Well, it's harvest season here and we just found out one of the local farmers has colon cancer and is scheduled for surgery this weekend. My Dad, brother and myself have been spending the last few days trying to get his soybeans combined and drug in before the weather takes a big dump on us again. Since I'm the only one who has a diesel truck, I got "volunteered" to drag the grain trailer back and forth from the farm to the elevator in town. Have made about a dozen trips so far, with 329 bushel (at 60 pounds per bushel) being the biggest load. The attached weigh slip isn't that particular load, but it represents a good average. Anyone else up around that?

I have the same grain trailer except I put extensions on the box. Now it holds 475 bushels.

You guys got me beat, I was only at 26,320 with this load. But I was pulling this from San Diego Ca to Covis NM. My truck did not like me going through the mountans.

He's been kicking around the idea of upgrading to a Duramax, but wanted to see how the diesel did vs the gasser. I had him sold when I started a load in his driveway, UPHILL, using 2-hi, first gear and leaving the engine at idle. He just shook his head and said "that's all I need to see".Bad news is we didn't get all the beans off before it started raining. I called it a day at 6:00PM simply because I work the midnight shift and had been down there since I'd gotten off work that morning and still had to go back in that evening. Dad and my brother stayed till just after midnight, when the rain started. At least everything we took off was either taken to the elevator in town or put away in the bins by the time it started. Now we'll just have to wait till things dry out to finish the beans and start on the corn. |

The most Iv ever pulled with my 02 was 11 ton of hay putting my combined weight a little over 30,000. I pull the same load once every year when hay time comes around

We hauled my new 36' telescopic forklift with platform, bucket, and rafter boom on a 45' gooseneck trailer from columbus ohio to home here in northwest iowa and rolled across the scales at 38,900 with my 05 and now we do it almost every week except it is usually just the lift an a 25' trailer and i weigh in at 32400

Biggest load ive ever hauled was not with my diesel. It was with my old truck 2500 hd chevy 4x4 6.0 5 spd with GOODIES. I weighed in at almost 32000 and it done good even in the hills. That truck also smoked 2 mustangs, amoung many other cars.

yea I have nothing on that for my truck but most of the heavy loads I hauled were in an old international paystar 5000 tractor trailer. Think we weighted in around 133,000 a night.
