pa has some pretty wicked hills to climb but i'm sure they are nothing like out west.

It's not unusual to see passenger vehicles along the side of the road, radiators steaming, unable to make a climb. Don't venture into the Rockies with a load unless your rig is 100%.

There's dozens of similarly challenging climbs in CO alone. Never-ending slow, steep switchbacks in the secondary roads would be the counterpoint to the Interstates, equally difficult.

I was pissed to find that my 96 Ranger wouldn't do more than 45 or so going west outta Denver. 4th of July pass on the Idaho/Montana border is kinda tough on trucks.

The deal with Pa. isn't that it's one BIG hill, it's about a million little STEEP ones; the road are windy as hell, too, so you're either hoping your transmission cooler works, or you're eating aspirins and hoping your shoulder doesn't give out.

I know just what your saying about PA. I go throu PA a few times a year. Its up down turn left go up turn rights then down fast. I use my exhaust brake non stop. Towing my stock trailer.

going west outta denver wasnt the bad part with my loaded 30ft stocker....it was coming back ...never took it outta 3rd and never let off the brakes....
