Default Stuck Between These Three Tires

I am trying to get my next set of tires for my 2000 Cummins 4x4.

I am looking at either the....

BFG KM2
TOYO Open Country MT
Goodyear MTR w/ Kevlar

I dont do any towing and most of my driving is on road. I do the occasional off roading here and there, and I will see snow, rain, ice, mud, dirt etc. The tires will be exposed to all elements, but again most driving is to and from work and around town so tread life and road noise is important.

What do you recommend?

And last but now least, I was going to buy a 285/75R16, but I have recently learned about 255/85R16 which are 33.5x10.00R16. Will the 255's be to thin for my truck? I'd like to maximize MPG with a thinner tire, but not at the expense of loosing a good look.

Thanks
Jeff

I have the 33x12.50 Goodyear w/Kevlars on my 89 FJ62 Landcruiser.

I love them. They're long wearing, fairly quiet and ride well.

If most your driving is on the road and backroads, they're great. I've handled my share of mud with them as well and they seem to clean out fairly well

The Kevlar belts work wonders in ride and longevity/

A little picey though.

Thanks for the great review!

I can get the MTR w/ Kevlar for 980 out the door, or the KM2s for 880. I think the Kevlar is worth the extra 100 bucks.

You're welcome. I think that's a better deal than I got IIRC. and I think you're right about the kevlar.

Always trusted it in my ballistics vest, why not my tires?

x2 on the kevlar goodyear mtr's. i run all larger tires but this next ride im doin is gettin those goodyears all the way. im very impressed with them. i wish i wouldve pulled them off my last truck before i sold it. very quiet for a mud tire, long lasting and extremely durable. much better against punctures of alot of other tires
