i have seen several trucks do this. seems to be a issue with newer trucks. one thing i will tell you some guys after really looking closer found ball joints wore. some guys say when they line there truck up it quits death wobble. i wanted to put levelers on my 08 but was afraid mine might do it. we sell bd stuff that they say helps.

Your BJs have worn quicker because the trucks's been driving caddywompus down the road since you added the DW Starter Kit. Crawl under there and take some measurements, or just stand about 30 feet away in front of it in a parking lot somewhere to look and you'll see the front axle is no longer centered under the truck. You need either an adjustable track bar or a drop bracket to get the axle re-centered under the truck.

And new ball joints, of course.

i put a 2 1/2" leveing kit on my truck and have only had the dw once and that was cause i was doing about 90 and hit a pot hole.. My 06 f350 powerstroke did it alot right when it was brand spanking new with NO lift.. It is all in the tires... you have to make sure you have adequate tires.. We put new tires on our work truck and it has happened since.. I have 10 ply tires on my truck.. Most of the guys that i know that have had the death wobble have less that D rating tires.. Im not trying to ignorant or start a fight, but i just dont see how a leveling kit will give it the death wobble... your not changing anything except putting spacers under the springs.... i am sure that it throws the axle out of center by a little, i cant see by much.... That is my .02 cents... I may be wrong but idk... Also i forgot to add that a buddy of mine has a 6.7 with a 2" leveling kit as well with 35" Nitto Mud grapplers and he has never had the DW either

from my knowledge the top balljoint has to be set a lil bit behind the botttom balljoint in the aspect of caster in an alignment..now when you put the spacers on it drops the trailing arms down wich pulls th axle towards the rear of the truck wich sets the top balljoin directly on top of the bottom balljoint....this is what my problem is i think..possibly adjustable trailing arms not sure.....i have load range "E" tires on the truck...also im not trying to argue what your saying anything anybody can tell me is helpfulll

The 4-link front ends in these trucks works very well, but are also very sensitive to the setup geometry. Tires are not the biggest part of the problem or the causal factor, just contributing. They make it worse when it happens. The original owner of our '07 installed spacers and 285/70 D-range AT tires. The ball joints and steering were shot by 20k miles and it developed a scary case of DW. I re-did the front end with new joints, upgraded steering, an adjustable track bar and turned the lower arms full forward. It has been fine ever since - with the same tires.

It's basically the new design steering linkage/tire rods they put on the 6.7s starting in '08, IIRC.

Oh I almost forgot - my commonrail also has drop spacers for the sway bar and a drop pitman to get the track bar and tire rod closer to parallel. It handles and steers perfectly now. It will get the longer Bilstein shocks and some Kore springs someday after the stockers wear out. If you are going to mess with the front suspension you need to do it right.

Spacers alone is a dumb idea.

I put the 2 1/2" or 3, I honestly forgot, TopGuns spacer on my 04 Dodge 2500 and I haven't had any problems with it wobbling yet, its been over a year. But to do it right I would go with what NadirPoint saying

i'm doing an adjustable track bar and having some longer control arm's built,to go with my spacer's.i don't think,i've ever experianced death wobble, just seem's a little bouncy.i plan on some bilstien 5100's,while i'm istalling the other stuff too.
i've put around 8000 mile's of around town driving(mostly),so hopefully nothing wore prematurely

I agree with most about the Balljoints. Dodges are famous for that, not doing the ford vs. dodge vs. chevy thing. That is the weak points of most dodge's are there frontends. Other than that point AWESOME trucks by far. I worked at a shop and dealt with acouple of contractors that of course bounced their trucks around job sites. They went through balljoints in as little as 12K miles to 15K miles. Other thing you can do is Align it and put alittle bit of Neg. Toe to it. Jeep are also very bad for this problem.
