Default 16 sec quarter. Good/Bad???

ok... last weekend i cleaned the dust out of the intake (figure of speech)...

First we cut my intake box down by about 30% to allow more air when needed... Put the Superchips on Performance setting (highest setting), got out on the four lane road, came to a stop, and gunned it... From the data on the tuner, i ran a quarter mile in 16.1 sec at 87.1 mph from a dead stop...

I guess i'm wondering if that is slow, fast, or good for the lack of mods... All i've been around is 1/8th mile tracks and have no comparisons to make... The truck details are below... And btw, this is a random run, i don't drive this way nor do i leave the truck on performance all the time...

For a programmer that doesn't give a lot and a fairly stock truck running on 35's, 16 secs is pretty good. IMO

Thats pretty good. I've run 15.8 @ 84mph and spun the tires for the first 20ft. I was only running a 2005 GMC Duramax 2500HD SLT 4x4 CC/LB. PPE Xcellerator Standard Lvl 2, S&B Intake w/ Lbz turbo mp, Welded up EGR and Ported manifold, Pvc Reroute, MBRP Turbo Downpipe, MBRP Cat delete w/Banks cat back, Transgo Jr. w/ deep pan, XX Fuel Filter Kit, and 265 Toyo ATs.

Is the track short on rubber and you were nice enough to donate some alot?

I was running a 16.1 at 88mph on my QCLB Dodge with an Edge EZ and Jammer 100 hp injectors. 33" tires and a 6 speed. Considering what a DMAX is capable of with just a chip, 16 sec is pretty low sorry.

With the automatic and a better chip and bigger turbo I run a 17.1 at 98 mph do to the factory torque Management.

Thanks guys... My cousin has a 12 sec Mustang GT with spray and he was riding with me and said it was pretty fast... It seems slow to me, but then again i'm not on my R1 anymore...

It's good for how "stock" the truck is but bad also because with some better tuning the truck can be an animal... Bud made 547 hp with alot of stock parts on in the motor.

Nice... I don't really want to mod too much under the hood without a rebuild on the tranny, so i've been holding off on the mods for a bit... My future goals are larger diameter injectors, airdog 150 pump, ATS tranny rebuild kit, maybe a larger diameter turbo for higher boosts, and loose the Superchips and replace with EFI live... I would like to see 13 seconds in the quarter with my diesel, but i want to load a goose neck trailer and haul it too... Guess i need to work a little more overtime

shoot i can help with it seeing 13's with an efi live tune...

it just might be a one time thing though before the transmission decides to say eff this.

you have tie rod sleeves on the truck? you could take off harder and cut down the 1/4 time by a significant number vs taking off with a straight dead stop. you can run efi with stock transmission, people do it all the time, and as far as upgrading injectors, better check and see if your stock injection pump can handle the stock ones with a 500hp tune on it first. and typically most people dont even upgrade them till after a turbo upgrade. Larger injectors do help out with a stock turbo regardless, decreasing timing and pulse width, but for the amount they cost you can still achieve the same power output with the stock turbo and the engine is still fine.

for the size of the truck and, dead stop, and with the little mods u have thats a decent time
