All things considered, pretty decent.

So, where is this four-lane road that you can drag-race on?

Just a though, if things go bad and you're lucky, they'll crush your little truck into a little college refrigerator.

How are you launching the truck? Pretty slow for a d-max if you ask me, but the generic tuner isn't helping anything.

A lift pump, an EFI live tune, some tie rod sleeves and some trans reinforcement and you should be WAY under that.

I ran a 14.25 with just an x-street tune (no converter lock up even) on 34" super swampers (weigh more than most 35" mud tires) with a passenger and a toolbox in the bed. That was with 100% stock exhaust (cat and muffler in place) and stock intake. That was with a boost launch in 4x4 though.

On small tires and an x-race tune I could probably bust into 13's.

I went 14.48 with a 1.90 60ft at a 4000ft elevation track. I launched about 7 psi in 4HI with 34.5 x 14.5 Toyos. That Edge wasn't near the programmer that my SCT is either. I too think 16.1 is a little slow, unless it was in 2HI with a smoke show.

Agreed, beef up your tie rods before doing anything else in that Duramax. I've seen hideous pigeon toe launches and I've seen them snap pulling a sled.

Does the tune actually make that much difference? From around mid-low 16 sec quarter to mid 14 sec?

Old thread (I know, sry guys) I went from running 15.2** stock to a 13.9** with just a tune and a lift pump. So a tune will make a big difference. But truck weight, setup, and elevation are a big deal to.
