Default Hemi?????

My previous vehicle was a magnum rt with the 5.7l hemi. My current vehicle is 07 3500 ctd. Things change .
A Friend on my just got a 07 1500 hemi, and of course he wanted to race. I told him all I would see is his tail lights,( being that I was positive my magnum would have dusted my current truck, and I think the power to weight ratio is not much different between the mag and the 1500) but I told him I'll hook bumpers any day!!
To make a long story short it was neck and neck to about 120km/h and then it was all hemi. I'm not one to race my ctd, it's usually hooked on a 20 goose but we had to do it, not once but 4 times and each time was the same result.
I was very surprised and I thought some of you would be to!

P.S. my truck is bone stock as was his.

I have the Edge EZ and raced a buddy here with his 1500 Hemi, and I killed him up ta about 120-130 as well.....Here is the funny part....

I had my bobcat trailer behind me...he is still pissed about it! I agree though, once the hemi catches ya, its gone.....

I have asked for a rematch without the trailer, but he wont do it!! I always tell him, 'That Hemi wont pull the skin off rice pudding' and now the guys he works with are calling him 'Rice Pudding'. It has become the worksite joke now

In the short go them Hemi's are way to laggy, like our trucks with an oversized turbo. But get em up to speed and they're like a rocket. We made what is normally a six hour trip home from Branson Missouri in under 4 hours before we got rid of ours and I wasn't even pushin it. From about 50mph to 120mph it is a totally sweet ride. We got rid of it cause it didn't pull trailers worth a damn.

The problem with the HEMI is that it might take over on the top end but his fuel gauge will drop like a rock - enough that when he needs to pull over and fill up you can just steam on by. LOL...

A few years ago I had an unintential road race from Vancouver back to Calgary with a 3500 Chevy Gasser. Every chance he got he blew by me at a very hi rate of speed. He stopped to fill in Kamloops, Revelstoke, Lake Lousie and The Petro Canada just west of Calgary on HWY 1. I never stopped for fuel the entire trip and beat him to Calgary by almost 1 hour!

I love my CTD.

Last fall we had a DTR meet in Red Deer and invited some Dodgetruckworld.com guys to come along. There were some pretty long faces once the burnout contest started. The Hemi guys left rather quickly after the guy with the 650 hp Cummins did his burnout.

With MDS there probably getting a little better mileage than our diesels. That is if there driven right.

Oh I doubt that because in this case we were both loaded. He had 2 sleds and I had about 1500# of tools. (give or take). Sure he was likely heavier than I but it was just funnier to watch.

I didn't read that in your first post. The Hemi empty with MDS will get just as good if not better milage. I don't know about chev I think they've just come out with that technology this year. they call it something different because it is totally different than Chryslers MDS. Have to brush up a bit
