Default Rim Clearcoat

I got a set of rims I want to put up for sale but the clear coat on one of them has gotten some brake cleaner spilled on it and it lifted it. So what kind of clear coat can be used to fix this up.

I would think the only way to do it now would be to strip the whole thing. As far as a finish You could use some of your clear finger nail polish

Yeah, first remove all the old, then honestly, depending on the finish of the wheel your prob better off to just polish them out.

The brake cleaner did a pretty good job of lifting the clearcoat already so no problem there. If any of it gives me any problems I'll just spray a little more on but I'm always open to new suggestions so tell us about em Doc.

The rims are solid aluminum so i know I want somethin over them just didn't know if there was a special formula to use.

ok heres what your goping to do. if you do it right it will come out cherrydone tones this of collison at shops i have have worked at over the years easy way to fix this. get a few red scottys they have to be red the you can get them at auto zone so on and so forth. a can of mineral sprits you get at a harware store and a basic ratle can clear problem duplicolor seems to hold up best., wash the wheels really well with one scotty front and back get all the crap up dont use regular car was soap ether use what you mom would use to wash dishes like ajax to wash pots and pans. use theat to was your wheels it doesnt have any silicones in it that would mess up the new clear take the minneral spirts after you done wasking the wheels and with a new scotty dip it in the mineral sprits and scraup the whole face of the whell and get all the flakes off and be sure to do the hole wheel. wash the wheel when your done let it dry or blow it off with an air jgun wipe it down when its dry or some what and spray the clear on dont worrie about overspary on the tire after the clear drys just put a little bit of clean gas or laquor on a rag and wipe it of the tire without touching the wheel and it will look brand new. good luck let me know if you have any questions.
