I have one of those things.. and it works okay, but I didnt get the name brand one, so that might be why I dont use it much. I just get those 1 gallon jugs of simple green concentrated, and put about 2 cups of that to a gallon or so of water, in a small bucket, and use rags and elbow grease.. works good for me

I use the Eagle One wheel and tire cleaner on mine and it does a great job taking off the brake dust and doesn't leave any spots. I have the Mothers ball (both sizes) and all I can say is the same as you. They work OK, but not great.

i've used a diluted down purple power solution before to get the brake dust off, then windex and news paper to wipe off the windex and dry the wheels. looks like a mirror.... but i got tired of that and got black wheels..... wash them with soap and water and they are done

X2 there are some other good polishes out there too. The powerball is crap you don't want anything to abrasive you want chemical polishes.
