I finally decided to step up and buy a quality impact. I looked at a Chicago Pneumatic, NitroCat, SK, and Ingersoll-Rand. Based on knowledge that IR is a good brand, I picked up an IR 2130 composite 1/2" impact. I got it yesterday and there's ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Angry New Ingersoll-Rand Impact - MADE IN CHINA!!!!

I finally decided to step up and buy a quality impact. I looked at a Chicago Pneumatic, NitroCat, SK, and Ingersoll-Rand. Based on knowledge that IR is a good brand, I picked up an IR 2130 composite 1/2" impact. I got it yesterday and there's a freaking sticker on top of the tool that says "Made for Ingersoll-Rand in CHINA". I was FURIOUS. This is a $200 gun!! I don't buy Chinese made tools. This one is definitely going back.

Does anyone know of a quality U.S.A. made impact? Are ALL of IR's impacts made in China? I would NEVER have suspected an IR tool to be made in China. -

I don't know about the USA but most tools from most suppliers in Canada are made in some fashion - even if final assembly is done this side - in China.

Some are still better than others mind you. -

Good info JC. I'll check with Bobby. Mac makes good stuff. Wonder where theirs is made?

Yeah, It seems that most everything passes through China. I would've thought more of IR.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I just looked at the MAC catalog... I looked at the AW4300. I think it's the EXACT same impact as the IR 2130 I just bought. -

I will toss this out there... Many new tools of ALL Quility are madin in China or other countrys... For one reason.... LABOR PRICES!!! Trust me... They are using the same Materials and they same specs of when they were made in the good old USA. Tool companys don;t buy from them they tell them what to make. They undergo the SAME quality control of the tools that are made hear (sometimes more) and they have the same warrenty. This goes for ALL the large tool companys... IR, MATCO, SNAP-ON, and yes even MAC. Trust us though we/they would not put a lifetime warenty on a PROFESSINAL tool if they didn't think it would last. As I said before.... Same material, Same Specs, Same quality, Different language in the factory. The companys are saving money in the labor... Not the quality/material.

Yes IR supplys us with some of our Airtools... thay are a little different but VERY close to the same. The MAC gun is stronger. We go out and tell them what we want and they build it. None of the big tool companys (MAC, Snap-on, ect) make there own (or at least most) of there air tools.... We might have our own "versions" but we all go to a specialist in the Air tool market. Get what I'm trying to say?

And IR makes some guns for Snap-on also. -

we get some from Aircat also... Real good guns. Our "Q" series is CRAZY quiet... Like quiet enough to have normal conversation while working with it.

Some of the guns that IR and Aircat supply us can ONLY be bought from us.

I would recomend the AW434M for anyone looking for an awesome impact.

You would be surprised on how much of the High quality tools are made in Tiwan and China... Very surprised. It's not the majority of them. But all the "name brand" guys have some tools (hand and other) that are madie over seas. Just being made there does not make them bad. As I stated... They are not bought from other countries, just made there. All teh Name brand stuff that is there is the EXACT same as if made here. Same Material... Same tolerances... Same product. Now all the CRAP that you buy at places like harbor fright, Northern and the such is just that Crap made in China. -

I went on a rampage a few years back, I wasn't buyin nothin else made in China. The problem I ran into is that you can't not buy their crap. In most cases you can't buy anything that is not made in china. The final straw was a new Body Grinder. I couldn't find one in any brand at any price that was not made in china. -
