For future/current owners, or who knows someone that owns an 03-cur. Dodge Ram 1500-3500, and has one or more of the lamps burn out, here's how to change them out.
Tools needed: 3/8" ratchet w/ a 6" wobble head ex. & reg. 3" ex., 10mm deep & shallow sockets, & a medium sized screwdriver. Part(s) needed: 1-2 H13 lamps. Remove the rubber access plug (located inside of front fender well) ,use the 6" wobble head extension and deep 10mm socket to remove the nut. ![]() Remove the two bolts w/ the 3" ex. and shallow 10mm socket. ![]() Pull out assembly. ![]() Headlamp is the green plug, turn signal is the light pink plug, and the clearance lamp is the white plug. Slide the red tab up, squeeze the release and remove connector. ![]() Remove old lamp, install new one(make sure you don't touch the glass end. Oil from your fingers will cause a hot spot on bulb and shorten life of lamp), then reverse procedure. Side note: This was done on an 06 and the headlamp was an H13, the 05's and older were a different bulb. Procedure will be the same for the clearance and turn signal lamps. - |
