1947 GMC PD3751 Silversides Greyhound Bus Conversion
Just thought I'd add my coach to the list of RV's
Thunder is a 1947 GMC PD3751 Silversides Greyhound Bus- conversion.
Engine is a 6-71 DDA,
Tranny - Spicer non syncro 4 in the tree with electric reverse. Double clutching skills a must!
She is quite possibly the oldest post WWII Silversides Greyhound still pounding the pavement!
She was #32 to roll off the line in 1947.
If you would like to know more about my bus and view pictures, please click the link to Thunder's website.

Awesome Silversides
I'd love to see more pics! I've been kicking around building a custom Ford COE/old trailer motorhome or just getting one of these. Still havent decided but the old silversides are pretty cool looking. Have you done much to it? Hows that detroit run? Is the milage decent?

Thunder runs great and pounds pavement smooth like a Cadillac :-)
She gets about 10 mpg with two fuel tanks holding 120 gal.
The 6-71 Detroit runs great and only about 46,000 mi on complete rebuilt driveline.
Can be quite difficult finding parts for and imperative hooking up with various Bus Nut groups if ya wanna keep Rollin and finding those parts since most are obsolete....
It's a labor of love, but oh so worth it!
More pic's....
