well, there have been some drought conditions for the most part just about every where that they grow and they have not looked real good in the last few years, but they are better this year...

And you are right, it is early to think about except for those who sell them, we have to start this early just to try to lock down the larger contracts and get an idea of how many to trim for shape, etc. otherwise we can run into problems later... -

yeah you guys do need to get a jump on that, how many acres you got(if their yours?). when me and my brothers were growin up we couldnt wait to go pick out and "help" dad cut down the tree...however with all of us grown up(age wise maybe not maturity ) mom let dad buy a...fake one...we hassled him pretty bad for it.

me and my mom picked out our best tree ever at about 9:30 at night with a flashlight and we tagged it and came back the next day to cut her down and it was the best one we ever got -

no sir, they are not mine, I only wholesale them, butI have contracts with the two largest growers in NC, They have been growing trees, among other things, for over 50 years...
I also wholesale pumpkins, watermelons, lettuce, cabbage, etc. and I use a small 26ft flatbed goose neck, I will not use larger because I only do it in the southeast, and I guarantee the freshness of the trees throughout the season so that someone buying a tree at the last minute will get the same quality as someone who goes a couple of weeks earlier... they sell fast around here, and I only haul 400 or so at a time depending on the different sizes in the load.... -

How beautiful! I love real Christmas trees. There's just something about them... I hate a fake tree and will never have one in my house! My goal is to get the biggest possible tree that will fit through the front door. (Bobby hates this by the way...) Do you deliver to the east coast of VA? If so, we will have to have a DB GTG when you're out here. -

I usually buy a small one the first year Potted of course, bring it in two weeks before christmas then out for under cover for two weeks, then just keep it on the deck or where ever! ... and do that for 5 yrs and then plant it.. cheaper to buy in a pot and let it grow you pay for five trees plus never through it away. -

All up and down the east coast, I actually have a lot that I am suppose to sell a few hundred trees to that sets up at the farmers' market in Va Beach. I just started this a few years ago and I am going to be on the road constantly once the season starts looking for more clients to sell to, you know, good ol' door to door, or lot to lot as it were...
I will not haul them with a big rig, My niche is the fact that I guarantee that the trees have been cut within 36 hours of delivery and I also guarantee the quality of the trees that I sell...
But yeah, a GTG would be cool...
we'll figure out a date on a weekend and I'll bring the better half and the two youngins and we'll make a weekend of it!!!
See you there! -

We are about an hour and a half north of VA Beach, straight up route 17. That's cool that you guarantee that they are fresh. So many times we go look for trees and they are all dry and half dead already... Just let us know when you are out this way and we will meet up.
