Cummins Inc and Brunswick Corp are forming venture to supply diesel engines and parts for commercial and recreational boats; companies say they will each own half of venture, Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Marine; Scott Patrohay is named president of new venture Cummins Inc. and the Brunswick Corporation are forming a venture to supply diesel engines and parts for commercial and recreational boats. The companies said they would each own half of the venture, Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Marine. Cummins Marine's general manager, Scott Patrohay, was named president of Cummins MerCruiser, which will be based in Charleston, S.C. Cummins, based in Columbus, Ind., is expanding beyond making diesel engines for heavy-duty trucks to include marine and power generators. Brunswick, based in Lake Forest, Ill., shed its camping, fishing, bicycle and cooler businesses last year to focus on marine engines, pleasure boats, fitness equipment, bowling and billiards. -
