Default Whale^*lite - Phenolic

If there are any areas that you want to beef up or may be exposed to water ingress, I am the East Coast distributor of Rich^*lite which is the architectural version of the material. (fancy colors). It's also used in marine applications as Whale^#lite.

I don't get on the site often. Please contact mattdberk@yahoo.com

(Google search it without the #, *, or ^. I don't want any tears on the part of dealers if I'm selling it for next to nothing.)

It's a thermoset paper based phenolic. Tough stuff

We have tons of drops from a cut-to-size program we run for kitchen counters. I bring the stuff in huge 5x12 sheets and some 4x8's but we have all kinds of remnants lying around that we sell to walk in DIY types for big discounts.

We used to have a CNC on-site, you could just sent in CAD files or dimensions, but CNC's are everywhere these days. It's cheaper to drop it off at a shop down the street. We can still have it cut if you need it. I'd have to get a price based on emailed drawings. We usually have 1/2", 3/4", 1" and 1.25" around. I custom order some 2" and 3" thick 5x12 and 4x8's for guys who make aircraft parts.

You can work it with woodworking tools, but the screw hold and water resistance is much, much better. I've seen guys tap it and thread it too. It is heavy though, about 7 lbs./sqft. in 1".
.................................................. ..................

A manufactured fiber composite, suited for fiberglass boat applications and repair, adheres to wet fiberglass resin as a backer board adding strength and rigidity in areas of high stress, such as mounts for rail stanchions, cleats, and chair pedestals.
.................................................. ..................

I charge kitchen and bath guys about $7-10/sqft. per 1/4" in thickness. So a 1" 48x60 is $560-800. Your price $250, $350, $400 for 3/4"; 1"; 1.25" respectively. I can cut these to 48x30 and 24x30 as well. All these are weird and discontinued colors, black, or "brown paper bag" color. (and some really nice 60x144 in 1.25" of the old version of black, but I get requests for those here and there; $1400; $750 for 30x144 in case you want to re-do your kitchen). They make incredible work benches.

You can seam them and join together with Lamello plastic biscuits and Devcon hardware store two-part 15min epoxy. Marine epoxy sounds like it would work too.

I'm happy to answer any questions or get a quote from the CNC guy down the street. Perhaps it could be of some use. I'm tired of looking at these remnant pieces

I've wanted to build a 24 foot jumbo for years.I'd like to run a low rev'ing industrial diesel with and I/O.There's a cheaper to build boat called the Blue Jacket that offers some of the same features. Bluejacket 25.5
