| LMM Bombs (Aftermarket) Discussion of Chevy and GMC Trucks with LMM Duramax Turbo Diesel Engines Related To Performance And Longevity |
Been looking at Snow Performance and Labonte. Both have a stage 3 kit, the big difference for me is the Labonte has a higher pressure pump and is cheaper it seems. I have heard mostly good things about both. I am leaning towards the Labonte ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Been looking at Snow Performance and Labonte. Both have a stage 3 kit, the big difference for me is the Labonte has a higher pressure pump and is cheaper it seems. I have heard mostly good things about both. I am leaning towards the Labonte because of the pump pressure and quaility of the pump so im told. Who out there is running either of these systems? and which would you recommend ?

I've never gone more than a few hours without getting an email back from Cooling Mist answering my question.
I've never heard of Labonte either, their pump almost looks like it may possibly be something different than the rebadged Shurflo's everybody else sells though. Their solenoids look nice too. I'm not fond of any system that varies water metering through PWM'ing the pump. It's better to use multiple solenoids for multiple stages. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/ge...-meth-kit.html Last edited by RSWORDS; 07-06-2009 at 07:37 AM.. |

I would go with Labonte, we sell both and like the Labonte better. Everything thing that you like about the Snow, you will like better with the labonte system.
Let me know if i can help. We currently have a sale on Labonte. Thanks Tyler MPF |

We have installed 25+ snow kits both stage II and III on customer trucks. Never had one single issue. Snow's customer service is hard to beat.
Edit: It looks like the controller for both the labonte and snow are identical, so they MAY be made by the same company and relabeled. Last edited by HoodStacked; 07-06-2009 at 12:37 PM.. |

The owner of Labonte used to be the lead engineer at Snow. Labonte comes with a better pump, and a few other minor differences.

Thanks for the replies . Most guys I talked to said go with the higher PSI pump. I don't really need the extra fuel from the meth just the cooling. In level 5and 6 getting some high EGT's if I keep the hammer down. So I'm hoping this would help out. Probably going to buy distilled water and mix my own cocktails

Got the system installed finally..Had about 400 mile commute to test it out. A bit of trial and error but I am very happy with the system. Mounted the tank and pump under the sled deck. As hard to find room under the hood for the pump..
Anyhow long story short, I have travelled the same commute for 4 years now and there was an increase in mileage for sure. Never had time to caculate what it was I will in the future. On level 5 with the PPE there was a increase in HP for sure, felt like an extra 50 or so with the injection on and off . The big thing I wanted was cooler EGT temps, I didn't notice that much difference. But i started out with a 50/50 distilled water and meth. With that tuning I really dont need more fuel but even so it kept temps the same or below so it is doing its job. With a stock truck I'm told 100-70 HP no prob with this kit..so it looks like I'll cut back on the mix of meth and this should drop EGTs , maybe 25/75 or drop the tune down. when I get the chance I'm gonna hit level 6 which is about 300 flywheel HP on the LMM and run straight water and see what gives. For my app its looking like summer run more water and big tune. Winter drop Hp and crank up the meth, almost have to in this climate Over all very happy just have to get the right mix and set up. Very easy to use screen also. Any experts please chime in with advise

I went with labonte. works well and was an easy install. Also running a 50/50 mix I mixed myself it gave me a 71rwhp gain... on dunbars dyno 7-25-09. Egt's went down pretty close to what they said it would also. So I'm hooked till I can afford one of those bigger spinny things or maybe a compound set haha.

Looks like I need some bigger Nozzles on the WFO pulls. with the HP setting at 600 FWHP it goes thro water like crazy just cruisin ,only running the 2 main nozzles to come on in the top end. So as of now I'm running 100% on wide open pulls with the m7 an m10 and am seeing some reduced egts for sure. Ordered the m14 should be a big help. Im just guessing but what it looks like is with this high of tune, the hp setting could be set lower and run the big nozzles when you need the cooling at WFO..
