Diesel was around .99 when Bush took office and it got over 4 for a while.. So it got down to 2.50 at the end. Only reason it went down that far was because of the recession.
I am not blaming Bush for this. But I am disapointed he didn't try to stop the ULSD diesel regs and the new diesel emissions. He could have done something there. Or atleast tried

I don't like obama and not voteing for him but I am sick of the 2.50 gas statement. There was a recession, damand was down. In other words nothing to brag about!!

The united States Number 1 export is gas. Keep the supply tight at home and ship off the extra and keep the price high. And you think about it what is the prupose of the XL pipe line? To move canadian and Baken crude to the cost of texas. I don't hear any word about them wanting to build another pipe line to transport the refined product north!! I assume a big ship will be the destination.

 

No I know Romney aint gonna do anything, its picking the shinest of two turds, I was not even driving back when push was elected in 2004 so I did not even pay half a mind to diesel then. But Im not gonna get to political. But this sucks, wish all the lies and *** kissing would stop and we get back on track as a country and start fixing things right...

 

Jan 16th, 2008 gasoline at $1.87, diesel at $2.05 here. History lesson: the reason we pay so much in aid to other countries is to keep them friendly, I think that **** is going out the window with most Muslim nations, I would hope. Gas is the number two export of the USA in terms of dollar value, Boeing aircraft is number one. The reason we "export" so much of our gas to China and Indonesia and India is demand, they are growing nations witha need. At one time the city of Bejing was putting 1800 new cars on the road a day! All of those areas are taking a big hit with the slow down worldwide so they are stockpiling fuel and don't have the demand they had once. This can only work to our advantage. But if you ain't paying folks to pull it out of the ground they lay people off, been there done that. Just to compare, Egypt and two other Middle East countries have 75 cents on their gas in country if you are a local. American construction and military in those regions pay much higher prices for their fuel. Ramco and Exxon gave Egypt the technology and equipment and manpower for years to develope their oil fields. They can't even maintain the equipment without our help.
One other fun fact, if we took the salary and benefit packages of the 47 Czars appointed by obama, and the stimulus money and put it on the national debt it would have been paid off in less than 20 years. Put a businessman in charge to take care of business! Not the guy making deals with Russians on and open mike oops!
