Lincoln Commits to Permanent Free Maintenance
Just the Facts:
* Starting with the 2011 model year, routine maintenance is free, says Lincoln.
* The free maintenance program is the culmination of a program that started in a limited way on 2010 models this summer.
* The maintenance deal is transferable to a second owner.
DEARBORN, Michigan — Lincoln has taken a bold step in its efforts to give its customers "a true luxury experience." It is making routine maintenance free of charge, starting with the 2011 model year and continuing "on a permanent basis." The free maintenance program is the culmination of a program that started in a limited way on 2010 models this summer.
Lincolns already have a bumper-to-bumper warranty for four years or 50,000 miles. The Lincoln Complimentary Maintenance program includes such routine tasks as up to eight service visits for oil and filter changes, tire rotations and multipoint inspections. The company says the maintenance deal is transferable to a second owner.
Lincoln notes that it made a major jump to 10th place in the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Initial Quality Study, up from 26th in 2009. The study measures problems per 100 vehicles, based on responses from 2010 model year vehicle owners after three months.
