Default FORD-CHEVY-DODGE

So, the debate that will never die. I'm tired of hearing people that swear by one or the other. I try to base my opinion on facts that i believe in. first in for most. I believe that all cars are a POS and going to break down. but whats the manufactor you prefer and why?

Here's my way of thinking(owned all at least once)

FORD- Best drive train around. they have had some pretty good things going for them, what i dont like is once they get it right they change and start over, I.E. 7.3=good 6.0= bad, also they are a pain in the *** to work on. how many different firing orders do there V8's have? who knows? also they change how the cylinders are numbered? plus the new ones are a cab off to work on? what is that about?

CHEVY- HD trucks with an IFS? No manual tranny available. great power. i had an 07 2wd and loved the truck for whats its worth but needed a big boy toy so it had to go.

DODGE- tried and true power plant options. solid front axles. think that they could use some better quality parts, IE switches in interior and front hub bearings. but never really a complaint about the truck its self.

Again correct me if I'm wrong and tell me what you choose, and why.

I like the interior in my Dodge longhorn better then my king ranch, Ford has more road noise to.

The 6.7 powerstroke is impressive power and fuel mileage wise, transmission works great, only negative on the ford is no mega cab and no exhaust brake.

I just don't like the Chevy Duramax , I looked at a new one before getting the Ford. It was completely loaded moon roof leather, but to me the interior seemed cheap. And chevy still can't point its tires straight in a 4 wheel drive launch. I was impressed with the Duramaxes power at high RPM but not down low.

The Dodge is still my favorite truck

I like the ford interior, and ride, their body's are pretty stout to don't rust out on most years. I don't like how their more difficult to work on.

Dodges- I like the motor and that's about it. Their interior is ok, but seats seem to rip in most all years, cracked dash, cheap bodies I've seen 04 an newer with rust over wheel wells and their auto trans aren't the greatest, still good trucks though I've grown more to liking them.

Chevys- don't like one thing about them really.

All in all I'd take a ford or dodge you can fix dodges interior issues and body issues if the trucks been well taken care off, but like s10driver said every vehicle has it's down falls and breaks down. I think it's personal preference over all

I agree with everything you said and a lot of guys are probably feeling the same way. However its more of internationals problem than fords for the 6.0 and 6.4. It is their fault because the 6.0 was a bad design to begin with and the 6.4s problem is the dpf and egr EPA junk.

Chevy- I like the duramax as a motor, dont like IFS (I have seen friends' trucks on the side of the road because of it), they do not ride that much better (drove a 2012 for a week or so, far from what its cracked up to be IMO), allison is great stock but beyond that it is not, newer body style I dont care for, stock exhaust is hideous.

Dodge - Cummins everyone already knows, auto trans are still far from perfect, smaller back seat on the older trucks, no real 4 door before 03, front hubs always locked in, drove and 07 and didnt like the ride very much, the 6.7s downfall is emissions just like everyone else.

Ford- Big decent riding trucks, I had the 7.3 for a year and one trans later still have a bad taste in my mouth, 6.0 can be made awesome(a truck that weighs 1000lbs more than chevy at least and can hang with a CR duramax), 5r110 is awesome period, drivetrain is solid, body is solid, interior is very nice and roomy, things like upfitter switches and integrated trailer brake in 05+ is very nice, 08+ power fold telescoping mirrors.

Love the ford truck, hate the engine options.

Don't mind the GM. Love the duramax/allison. Love the IFS!! Do not like the body or interior.

Love the new ram truck. Looks mean, love the cummins and the aisin 6 speed isn't that bad. Ride is pretty good and the road noise is way down.

I like Ford trucks dont like 6.0 or later engines, I like the Dodge trucks lots of people say they tolerate the Dodge to get the Cummins but I don't mind the Dodge truck, front end isn't the best and I'd like them better if they had locking hubs. I also like Chevy trucks, don't like the IFS on a heavy duty truck but on a 1/2 DD it would be ok. The latest Dmax seems ok so far but before it GM hasn't offered a Diesel that I have cared for before it. Comes down to persional preference they all have thier ups and downs.

I buy mine to last and work that is why only a Cummins will satisfy my needs. Plus its is the only one of the 3 that have been making diesels since 1919!

Legend......wait for it......ary!
