Looking to purchase a scan tool
Does anyone have recommendations on a scan tool or program I can use on my laptop to check for codes on engine & transmissions something bi-directional.
I have a program OBD LINK but not very useful doesn't work on most vehicles I work on, (f-250,f-650,f-450, Dodge 12 & 24 valve)

Thanks A/Ox4 I looked at the autoenginuity but will not work with most of the vehicles I work on F450,F650,LCF trucks.... Looking for a scan tool equal to a Snap-on MODIS. I just think some of the Snap-on tools are overpriced & quality is not that much better. Purchased a $800 Snap-on impact gun and the thing did not make it through a year.

OTC has a similar one, the GENISIS. with the right personality keys you can do all the way up to the f550, and cummins as long as its a 24v. if you wanna do f650 and up, have you looked into a PRO-LINK? i would say get manufacturer programming but your gonna spend 1500$ a year for cummins Insite, 2k for CAT ET (which also does IH). but the WABCO PRO-LINK works very well with J1939

if you have the OBDII connector, you can do everything you can do on a big truck. Although im not totally sure if you'd have to get an expansion pack for Asian and European. but im sure if you got the right package (they offer many) you can do whatever you'd like! i have used it on a f350, you could do soooooooo much more with it than a scan tool! im sure the programming is available
