Ive had one and it was a good truck. They don't make a lot of power but its cheap reliable wheels. Its the 7.3 idi I'm leary of, the tend to have cavitation problems.

wat are the best mods to do without a turbo and are those even worth it or should i just go turbo right away and how many miles are to many where a turbo would just wreck the motor

I loved my 6.9. No power house but they are pretty torque-y, great for up in the mountains. Other than bad batteries and bad injector return lines(easy and cheap to fix), I never had a problem with it. I'm trying to get another one.

There's not a lot of mods you can do to them. Basically, Hypermax air intake, turbo, 7.3 turbo injectors, and pipe it. I forget what code the injectors are off the top of my head but you can find it in the IDI section. Also, if you run more than 12 psi boost(I think its 12, check the IDI section) then you will need to put head studs in.

I got 17-19 hiway because of how I drive. I probably could have gotten 20 if I tried. Mine was a reg cab longbox 4 speed 4x4 with 4.10s
