Ditto. I've been getting feedback for a couple of months now and getting mixed messages.

I actually had a chat with a career mechanic who suggested I stay away from the bigger/more expensive schools, as he saw that they really didn't give an edge.

I'm interested to see what is said.

Half the kids that go to Laramie say " This town only has 3 stop lights" The other half say "This town has THREE stoplights!"

If Wyotech has the Best Diesel programs in the country, I must be one of the best Diesel mechanics in the country as I found the program pretty easy. Although I know a lot of people didn't.

However that being said, Having that slip of paper was a big help in getting my current job and they have a pretty good job placement program.

I went there in 01 for the diesel and ASM. I thought it was a really good school. Lots of hands on learning.

Thats what U wanted to hear., I know it'll be a culture shock for me since Im moving from Orlando pretty much to the middle of no where. As far as the program I know quite a bit about Dmax's and I am currently in a 2 year AYES Automotive program here and Co-Op in a Chevy dealer. So as far a mechanics go I can hold my own, but I wanna specialize in Locomotive or Heavy Marine Diesel.

If you like the outdoors Laramie is a great place to live. Your surrounded by Mountains and Snowy Range ski area is only 40 miles away. The Snowy Range is a nice place to go hiking if you can handle the altitude. Laramie is 7000 ft above sea level and if you drive over the Snowy Range to Saratoga you'll be up over 10,000Feet. It will take you a while to get used to the altitude.

If you like the cities Fort Collins is about an Hour and a half away. Cheyenne is about an hour away.

Yeah Medicine Bow National Park has quite a few trails and during the winter there is always tons of snow in the mountains.
