Default SAE 30 temp use in diesel?

I'm talking very temporary as in just to see if it will run for a few minutes, and to also find the leak/s. I have several cases of reman SAE 30 that I'd rather use over the Rotella, since I'm going to be losing quite a bit of it anyway. I have a pretty major oil leak but can't zero in on it unless I can get it cranked again.

Even if it does start I wouldn't be letting it run long enough to get near normal running temps.
