Hooking up a Aux fuel tank in the bed?

Get a Pollack 6way valve.
It does have 2 feed lines and 2 return lines switchable by a remote dash switch. So you need only the stock filter.
Now the cool thing: It does also have a fuel guage switch between both tank senders. So you need only the factory guage to read both, and all is controlled by that single dash main/aux tank switch.
Maybe you need a second lift pump.

No. I've had a gravity feed 30 gal under the toolbox in the '07 for over a year no prob. The rollover valve prevents any possible leakage as you suspect. The only issue in that regard is tapping a good leakproof connection into the main tank. I did it in conjunction with the vent mod and a three way valve. Very simple and reliable install, works great. Not sure how the Ford tanks work, but they can't be that much different.
