Default Has anyone had any experience with rev-x!

I have a 03 6.0 F250 that starts and runs like crap for about 5 minutes until totaly warmed up. The truck has done this since I bought it years ago, until lately. For the last couple of weeks it has not seemed to clear up even when warmed up. Took it to a local shop and they said I had two options 1. replace the injectors 2. install rev-x. Has anyone used this rev-x and what did it do, how can it take the place of bad injectors? Any help would be great.

How interesting. No replies? I decided to check these guys out a little further and called on some of the people who are selling it off of there web site. Seemed to be the recomendation they had when I asked what to do about the issues my truck was having. So for $75.00 I am going to give this rev-x a try and see what if anything it can do. After all it seems to cost less than the diagnosis time at the dealer to check the truck out. Will check back later with the results.

Obviously your dealer is trying to sell you some unnecessary stuff.
Your experienced noise during cold start up sounds to me like noisy, worn out hydraulic tappets. A typical sign for engine with some "extra mileage" (What's your mileage?)

But I have no idea about the ol' Ford, so this is only my personal opinion.
Don't spend your money on wonderfluids.

That's what I thought. So I did a little more checking around with some other guys and found out a whole lot more info on this rev-x product. Judging from what the guys over at powerstroke nation, powerstroke.org, competition diesel.com have experienced I just may have to say that this product is for real. I ordered 2 bottles of rev-x for my truck and will give a comprhensive result of what it did do or did not do and we will see. I should have it within a couple of days as they are in Michigan. My truck has 117,000 miles on it and better not have worn out hyd tappets as the oil has been changed at 3000 since i got it with 18,000 on it. I'll try this stuff and see.

117000miles?
That's almost new!
What kind of oil do you use? What does Ford recommend?
Report us your results, please!

I'm going to assume Ford recommends using their MotorCraft 5-40W synthetic in their powerstrokes which sells for around $35-40 a gallon

OK! I recieved the two bottles of rev-x on friday and quickly installed them. The oil I am using is the 15w/45 motorcraft (I have used the 5w/40 in the past with no change in the overall running cond) with a total of 528mi on the current oil change. Product installed at work and then drove the truck home 62mi. Did not drive it after that at night. Next morning - Fired truck up at 6:45am to let it warm up for a few minutes before I left - AH, It fired up and ran smooth! I MEAN SMOOOOOTH! went inside and had my coffee and my wife asked if I had started the truck yet!!! She didn't hear it. When I left for work I pulled out of the driveway and rolled into it expecting the surging that it normally does but, It never happened. The engine just ran up into the rpms like it wasn't even pulling any weight at all. So, 62mi to work and it just ran smooth as anyone would expect of any vehicle. Once at work I had a co-worker and shop mechanic have a listen to the thing as it was Idleing. They both asked me how much I spent on injectors and were in disbeleif when I told them I hadn't bought any injectors. I showed them the 2 empty bottles of rev-x. Remember I only have 124mi on the truck at this time and I will say this It runs smoother than it did when I first bought it, it pulls better through the rpms than it ever has before and the engine idles so nice it is beyond me how this could possibly be. Total investment to date $75.95 - Well worth the price so far. I have to go to Iowa this afternoon and am going to take the truck to see if there is any change in the running condition. I will keep you guys posted.

I have been running rev-x for over a year in my truck now. And all I can say is that my trucks all run at the top of their game now. Both my cummins, and powerstroke love this product!

Since I have installed the rev-x in my truck I have driven a total of 765 miles. Before I put it in the truck ran like it didn't even like itself as stated in the ealier post - even when warmed up. Now I can honestly say that the truck has had a 100% turn around. It actually starts and idles without any loping and can be driven away after running for about 5 seconds ( That wasn't even possible before!). My milage went up almost 1.3mpg! I credit this due to the lack of warmup time and proper running condition of engine (what else could it be?). Another aspect that my son noticed was the fact that the turbo can be heard spinning at an idle outside of the truck. THAT did not happen before. I must say that I am very impressed if not shocked at the way this product worked. If I can keep this truck running as it is currently I will probably keep it for many years instead of trading it off for a gasser.

that sounds good. my question is will the results last AFTER you change your oil? or are you going to have to spend $75 each oil change on the Rev-X? over time you could have paid for a set of good re-manned fuel injectors that will last you another 125K+ miles.

just thinking outside the box here but lets say you use that rev-x every oil change for the next 125K miles and you change your oil every 3K miles that equals ~$3125 ON TOP of the cost of the oil change lets assume you spend ~$12 per gallon of oil times 4 plus the cost of the oil filter that is ~$20. so ~$68 per oil change plus the $75 for this mystery oil....... total with oil changes for the next 125K miles including the Rev-X, not factoring in inflation is $5981 ........ just saying....
