Default good trade? mile marker winch for exhaust brake

Somebody is offering me a Mile Marker 12,000# winch for my brand new Jacobs exhaust brake. I don't know anything about the quality of these winches. Can somebody give me some input as to if this is a good trade or not?

looks like those winches, depending on the exact model range in price from $670-$2000+. can you get the exact model number of the winch? how much was your exhaust brake?

my exhaust brake was about 850. I think this winch is listed for about 750-800. Problem is not the dollar amount. I know Jacobs makes a good exhaust brake but 800 dollars or not, I don't wanna trade it for a junk winch.

Mile Marker winches are usually about 100 bucks for every 1000lbs...so if the winch is rated for 1200lbs it would have cost around 1200 bucks new...and Mile Marker is known for reliability cuz they usually get their power from your power steering pump...there's a show on youtube that shows the company winching a truck up a hill for a full mile, hence the fact where they got their name from...if you try that same test with a electric winch you will find your motor to be very hot and your battery almost dead...they are in my opinion a very good reliable winch...I have never owned one but the guys I know that do have 'em swear by 'em...sounds like a good deal to me

Maybe I worded that wrong. I don't know if they're junk or not. I was just saying I didn't want to trade a quality brand exhaust brake for a poor quality brand winch. I don't know if MileMarker is a quality product or not. The purpose of this thread is for me to be able to determine that.

To those who asked, unfortunately it is not a hydraulic winch. It's electric.
