After all, Dodge has been cranking out industry-leading diesels since 1989, when the 250- and 350-Series pickups were partnered up with the Cummins Turbodiesel engine. What started back then as a 160hp/400lb-ft combination has blossomed over the years into 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, with the new Rams being so capable that one needs a Class-A license to max out the truck’s tow rating.
