Default 2010 6.4 fuel mileage

My boss bought a 2010 F350 crew cab dually 4x4 with the 6.4. It is completely bone stock and has never pushed snow or pulled anything. He purchased it new and has babied it. I rode in it and we both felt like it has no power at all compared to my 01 duramax 3500 which is also bone stock. He told me that this is all the power that it has ever had not to mention it only gets 8mpg. It only has 55k on it. I am not familiar with the emissions crap that these newer trucks have and was wondering if this seems like normal for a bone stock truck like this. I was also wondering what is the best aftermarket tuner that can bring the fuel economy up a bit and give it some pep in its step without harming it. Also a tuner that can be removed when factory warranty work needs to be done. Last but not least very user friendly! Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

QuickCarl...I am in the same position I too am looking for advice on power and fuel mileage for my 6.4 Power Stroke and I have read that there are many options ie. spartan tuners with DPF delete to improved filters and so on. I shall be watching your post for responses to your inquiry with enthusiasm.

I put a H&S with deletes on a 08 F350 (not my truck) I was told the mileage went from around 10 to 15. My friend told me on a recent long highway trip he got 17.5

I can't verafy the mileage but I can on the power. The 6.4 deleted will fly when it can breath!!

I have hand calculated my mileage with all stock on my 08 6.4 to 8 mpg (city) and after having read countless posts, it is time for a tuner and dpf/cat delete ASAP. Is there anything else I should get done at the same time?

Thanks for your inputs. Never dealt with tuners before. The truck is still under warranty and we don't want to jeopardize that, so which kinds can easily be removed without being detected and also what exactly does the dpf delete consist of?

I have a 2010 DRW Crew with 23000 bone stock mileage @ 6000 miles on it was at best 10 to 12 mpg after much research and countless phone calls I decided to go with Spartan tuneing along with AFE exhaust and Intake. Now mpg unloaded runs around 16 with the 275 horse tune and 10 - 12 loaded with 14000 lbs of trailer which im am very pleased with considering size and weight plus the wicked power gains. Id check them out they are good to talk to, very helpful and offer pkg deals on their site. Towing is running the 210 horse tune with the trucks haul mode on since I found the 210 tow tune's shifting was way to harsh for hauling horses.
