Hi everyone. So I figured I'd just post this question in the powerstroke forums because honestly I have no other idea where to post my truck. So I have a 1982 Mazda B2200 that I just bought. It has a 2.2 perkins diesel, a turbo from a 2.3l ranger and straightpipe from the turbo back to the stack in the bed. Long story short I was able to nab a Banks egt gauge from a 1988-1990 Ford F350 that had a 7.3 idi and a Banks turbo kit. Now I need to buy a probe and I know where it should be placed on the manifold. But my problem is trying to find out how to wire it, it only has 2 wires for the light which pops right out of the gauge and then the only 2 conections on the gauge are a positive post and a signal, but my question is how does it work when the sensor for the gauge is supposed to be 2 wires. If anyone can help out that would be great.

The leadwire from gauge to probe is special with a red & yellow wire inside. The yellow wire is the positive. The probe itself is a voltage generator just like a thermocouple on a furnace, so no power wire is needed. Banks gauges from back then are made by Isspro pt# R650 for probe. Will also need a lead wire pt# R660-10. These parts can be bought at most big truck shops. Probe does not need to be mounted in manifold. Mounted behind turbo is fine. The leadwire pt# has different - #s indicating length in feet. There is 660-6, -8, -10 or longer is common, just don't cut lead wire. Whatever length you get, just loop up extra and probe has matching color wires.
