Default 99 dieing

my buddie has 99 350 dually and he said that when he starts it will run for a few min just fine then it will die and when driving when you let off the throttle it will die what could be causeing this

Possibly a CPS issue?

Go somewhere that he can pull some codes. I would bet I IPR issue, but it could be many things. Need to get it scanned.

His dad has a scanner and it said it was something with the cam so im guessing its the cps but i wanted to post on here to make sure

Replace the CPS. CSIPSD is right though, It could be many things.

If he replaces the CPS and it turns out that the original one was good, just keep the old one as a spare and we will move on with the issue.
