I would look it over really good. Those miles are real low which is nice. The HPOP shouldn't have gone bad at 50,000. That is concerning to me. Do you know where the work was done and what the symptoms were or is this truck on a lot? If its a private sale, I would like to know who did the work and why it was replaced and did it fix said symptoms. I would think you could get it for 16 or 17k. 19k seems like a lot but without seeing it, its hard for me to say. What was it used for?

the condition of the truck is perfect other than 3 little dents where a kid ran into it with his bike.

I would get it. That would be a nice truck with low miles. Injectors will last upwards of 200k miles if the oil is changed routinely. As long as the truck was maintained, you shouldn't have to worry about that. at 50k miles, he still had to drive it 5k miles a year. I wouldn't worry about that too much.

My truck pictured here...

had 18k on it when I bought it in 05. These trucks do not get harmed if just sitting. Change the oil and your good to go.

More then likely the truck had an IPR issue. When there is a HPO concern and they see low HPO, Ford does not check the IPR, or even touch it... They replace the HPOP and it comes with a new IPR...

Hence the $1000 bill.

I agree with 95powersmoker reply. It is kind of strange that a HPOP failed at 50,000 miles. I'm curious as to what the symptoms were that led them to replace the pump. Could be that since the work was done at the dealership they wanted to cover all their bases by replacing the entire pump. What I mean is that the old pump may have had a simple oil leak or IPR issue but replacing the entire pump ensures a fix to the problem. Also, simple repairs don't pay like a pump replacement does. Price seems a little high but that doesn't suprise me because those 7.3's are bullet-proof and the demand is high. Most 7.3 owners are holding on to them. As for the injectors, they should not have any issues due to the failure of the HPOP. Other than that, it sounds like a nice rig.
