Buddy of mine has a early 99 automatic 4x4 7.3 with 362000 miles. we installed a 6 position ts performance on it and ever since then the truck blows white smoke constantly even mixing with soot particulate. Anyone know what problem might be before he spends any money in things he dont need? I was thinking maybe injector o-rings or turbo?

 

I have an E99 and had the problem with the stock airbox on it, put on a K&N (some folks like em and some don't) and it went away. With a 6-POS I'd hope he at least has an intake and exhaust on it. He should look into gauges too. Did it do anything similar before he put on the 6-POS?

 

no it didnt. but i did have him straight pipe the exhaust stock and a aftermarket intake

 

Does the smoke smell like fuel? Or burn the eyes?

Fuel in the coolant? If so then same issue as mine, ended up replacing the injector sleeves. DO NOT go to a dealer. Much easier & cheaper using info from the pros here. If you're mechanically inclined that is.
