Default Transmission over heats

I hae a 1999 With a 4R100. The transmission shifts just fine, the fluid kevels are where they should be at and do not sell burnt. the problem is that the tranny has reached extreme levels of heat during just the day to day driveing. I was hopeing i could get some insight on whether it sould be the Torque converter going bad or the tranny pump or worse. Any ideas and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Where is your sender at and what type of gauge? What mods to the truck?

autometer gauge, sender is in the tranny cooler feed line, and the only mods tothe truck is a hypertech programmer.

Did the programmer let you adjust your tranny?

Have you tried turning off the programmer and seeing if it made a difference?

no, that specific tuner only deals with the engine with preset programs. Yes I have de-tuned and reoved the prograer with the same results.

move the temp sender to the test port on the drivers side,

I suspect you may have a plugged cooler.

Try that first and go from there.

The wire is attached to a sending unit that is screwed into that port in the tranny.
