Default 2000 ford f250 7.3l 4x4 four wheel drive

Hello guys newbie again. I'm having problems with my electronic 4x4 locking in. I can turn the switch on in the cab and hear the four wheel trying to kick in but it wont engage fully. Let me reinterate that it wont kick in at all. I just changed my driver side wheel hub bearing a week ago and didn't check it after replacing it but it did work before hand. I made sure the seals and clamps where on good before closing everthing back up. Can you help me i need my four wheel drive. Thanks Jody

If you lock the hubs manually does it work? Sounds like you have a vacuum leak, but I cant say for sure.

try locking the hubs into manual and let us know.

usually its the stupid hubs or a vacuum leak. the easy fix is to just buy a set of manual lockers and be done with it. or if you want to do it right hook your vacuum lines to a smoke machine and trace it out, its usually an inop vacuum pump or a cracked line down by the wheels.

Well tried to lock them manual and the manual lock is stuck on both sides. yeah havent used them in years. always used the inside fly on the wheel 4x4. Again just playing around the 4x4 switch will work because you can hear the sound of engagement but it wont advance into 4wd. As for checking for a vaccum leak what do i need to do and how do i go about fixing it. thanks

yea those hubs seize. time for a set of new ones....

but like i said you need a smoke machine or an even easier way is to have a hand vacuum pump to test for leaks, most commonly its the vacuum pump or just a cracked line down by the wheels.
