Default Glowshift gauges electrical problem

Got a odd problem with the 02 f250 7.3 I just bought. The already installed glowshift egt and trans temp gauges both work for 5 to 10 seconds after starting the truck then both go to zero. The lights stay on and appear to have full power. If turning the power from off to on position without start, they work fine. I did try a jumper directly off of the battery with no different results. After a long set of trial and error found the issue is the alternator as if the alternator is unplugged then the gauges work fine.

Any advice beyond changing out the alternator? The alternator by prior owner was recently changed with an unbranded alternator. Probably Amazon China special so may give a swap out a try.

Status update. Changed out the alternator and no difference. Did a compare using torque pro and see that once the voltage hits 13.1 the gauges die. Will call glowshift technical support on this. May also try to add a resistor to reduce voltage
But will be a fire risk .

Got the solution. Added 3 resistors in parallel at 47r each on The red power wire. This brings the resistor value to 15.6r and allows for 3/4 watt. This makes the gauges work great. I called glowshift a few times and they were no help. Would advise against glowshift.
