Default pillar pods or programmer with digital display?

I just got a 02 7.3 that is completely stock with 202,000 miles on it and was wanting to pep it up a little. I had a TS 6 pos chip that I was trying to install and don't know it I had a bad chip or if the prom was sanded down too far but everytime I connected the chip it wouldn't let the truck start. So I got my money back and decided to go with the programmer. Are the pillar pods a thing in the past, and the digital dash mounts the up and coming or is it just a preference thing?

I like analog gauges, they are easier to read at a glance. Was your chip tuned for your pickup or was it just one you bought?

If it were my money, I'd do both....

The pillar pods to give real time, accurate info on your important components ie. trans temp, boost, pyro, etc....

The DDM for all the other things you want to monitor occasionally.. I run a couple 6.0's and need both.. It's nice to be able to watch the oil/coolant temps sidexside on the Bully Dog or Edge, but also have dedicated fuel psi and pyro gauges to eyeball on a hard pull.....
