Default Truck dont want to start after sitting a day.

Batteries are new, truck will turn over but wont start. After a couple of ignition cycles truck will start up, rough idle and then clear up. Wondering if i need to look for a fuel issue or electrical. If it was a glow plug it wouldnt start eventually, right? And once its running its fine all day. Past couple days at night its got into the teens, dont know if that would have anything to do with it.

Have you checked the glow plugs? Sounds more like it is a glow plug, or glow plug controller issue. I had that same issue with my 99 7.3. try plugging it in and see if that makes a difference. When it was below 50 my truck did not like to start with the glow plugs being bad. I had a 5 hour window that I could let the truck sit after being brought to temp for a while. I changed the glow plugs, and it starts with out issue now..............

x2 on only buying motorcraft. I paid $12.76 each for mine from the dealership. Also while you are in there, it is a good practice to change the valve cover gaskets, and the glow plug/injector harness while you are at it. I would also like to note, that 3 of the valve cover bolts on the passenger side must be gotten to through the fender well. Also, you might as well get new O-Rings for the CCV on the drivers side valve cover because those will probably expand when you remove it and they won't seal up when re-installed. Those are inexpensive as well. Hope some of this helps
