Pros and cons switching from gas to a diesel
I own a 2004 f150 fx4 with 125xxx miles. Looking to trade for a 7.3 Powerstroke. I have always wanted a 7.3 and I have never owned a diesel. I just wanted to know what would be the pros and cons to switching. And if it would be worth the trade.

It all depends on what you need and what you want. Diesels tend to be more expensive to maintain and run, but if you really work your truck diesels tend to last longer. I am glad that I made the switch and I just wish I could stop throwing every dime I make into the fuel tank and the mod fund.

I recently switched over and couldn't be happier. Better fuel mileage, lasts 3x or 4x longer, etc etc.... You may not pull anything super heavy now, but when the day comes where you need to you will be set. Maintenance can be a pain at times and more expensive, but regardless those fixes will last WAY longer. If you are going through a dealer to trade MAKE SURE to buy a warranty. That has saved my wallet from bursting into flames already. I'll never buy a gasser again
