New to diesels, looking to start getting some more power from my truck, 2002 F250 198,000 stock injectors and fuel pump, cold air intake, 4"turbo back exhaust, edge juice with attitude chip. Was thinking of putting in new larger injectors, but would it make much of a difference on the power, or do I go with a different turbo first then injectors later, or add a second turbo in addition to the stock one? The original injectors seem to be fine now, just thought about changing them because of the mmileage and avoiding problems later on. I don't go to pulls with the truck just haul an enclosed trailer for my hvac business or a bass boat, bought the truck for better mileage and more power and have always wanted a diesel. Would like to lift it eventually and maybe go with a methanol injection system. Any help is appreciated, so far really enjoy having a diesel and working on it, love to learn new stuff, don't really care to work on most vehicles but do enjoy working on this diesel. first off you have PMRs so you cant go very big with extra power.

then you will need all the supporting mods. gauges, intake, exhaust. you have a edge but it is made for stock pickups and doesn't work well with aftermarket injectors, especially since you have PMRs. so you will need to get a chip so you can get it custom tuned.

if it was me i might just do a set of stage ones. with those you wouldnt have to upgrade the turbo unless you wanted to. the stock turbo doesnt work well in a compound set up because they dont hold up to the extra boost.

Is there a way to test the water in fuel sensor? I replaced the fuel filter a couple of weeks ago while changing the oil, and a week later my water in fuel light comes on and the truck shuts down, if I am moving it restarts on its own, if I am stopped I have to restart it. I drained the fuel bowl at the filter like the manual says, did that twice now, filled it with fresh fuel and added a fuel treatment and still it intermittently shuts down. I thought maybe the sensor was bad, also thought about changing the fuel filter again thinking maybe it has absorbed some water. I thought maybe I could drain the fuel bowl and ohm the sensor but didn't know what ohm reading would determine if it was good or bad. Seems like if it was the sensor the water in fuel light would stay on though.

 

larger injectors are not much more. Most places that sell the injectors can get you a custom tuned 6 position chip and injectors as a combo and save you some $$
