Default What motor?

I just bought a e-450. Production date of 6/99. Is this the second gen powerstroke? The injectors are bad. How do I find out what kind I have? Or do I just pull them and find the code on the injector? Thanks for your help.

There was no second gen powerstroke. You have split shots But to be 100% sure you need to pull the valve covers and check the code on the solenoids

K. Thanks. I'm trying to get the best mileage out if this thing that I can. Will the split shots do that or should I go with single shots. I heard the singles are better but then I need a programmer to redo the computer to make the two work together.

Also. When I'm looking at parts the years are xx-99.5 and 99.5-03. I'm right on that split. How do I tell which side I fall on?

Singles might get you a little better but you will need a chip to run them properly.
Measure the intake plenums, if they are 3in then its a late 99

Not sure if the E99 had an intake heater or not but that might be one way to tell
