Default superchips 1705 what to do?

I just bought my first diesel truck Ive has gasoline my whole life. Its a 2002 7.3 w 70,000 miles its a peach never been ran hard as far as I can tell no mods no bed mounted hitches and even the drawtite hitch in the back seems to be un used. it came with a superchips model 1705 hand tuner. im going to slowly add things to this truck for performance and fuel economy. im going to start with a pillar pod with trans temp, egt, boost. I don't care for hauling a$$ in this thing making black smoke or towing extremely heavy loads I bought this truck because id like to have the towing capability if I ever need it and id like to have a vehicle I can put a million miles on if I stay up with the maintancance. so for now my biggest concern is fuel economy and im wondering if I should use the superchips tuner or leave the stock program. I don't have a heavy foot and I am aware that anything I can do to keep the rpms under 2k the better. thanks for your advice

Throw it away.

If you want MPG's and reliability, invest in an intake (6637 or AIS), then 4" exhaust, then custom chip like DP or TS.
