The powerstroke only starts making power at 2k rpm . I run mine to 3400 daily and has gone 195k that way.
When you are traveling on the highway nothing wrong spinning some r's to get going. And to cool it down if egt starts getting hot.
The V8 powerstroke and I6 cummins react completely different to rpm even though the Cummings boys buy the 4k governor springs and run them hard.
The fuel is all that goes bad when you are above 2000 rpm.
