7.3 Questions

Bought a 2002 Excursion, and just wanted some advice on what the common things to look for on the 7.3 were. Posted on the Excursion thread but doesn't look like it gets much traffic so figured I'd post here as well. Just sold my 99 cummins, and got a steal on this truck I think. Anyway, want to powerwash the engine, has an oil leak, but hard to find, fan blowing it around. I want to wash it but I know on gas fords, they don't like water and won't start wet. Does that hold true on the 7.3? Also, I believe that I have a engine code that said something about low voltage at injector module. Truck runs great, Garrett GTP 38 turbo, 4" exhaust, Edge Juice with attitude, cold air intake, on 315's. Is there any common things to look for or prone oil leak places on it? Knew my cummins inside and out and have some experiance with the 7.3 but not much. Thanks for the help.

If the fan is truely pushing the oil all over the place, then its most likely your oil cooler. Its on the left side of the engine and is what your oil filter screws onto. Check that guy over. I have also seen front mains do this.

Other oil leaks are anything HPOP related, pump itself, IPR, lines. Also the turbo pedestal/EBPV leak oil... I degrease and power wash these engines daily, never an issue...

Thanks, I will power wash it and try to find the leak. Also, How often does this "screen" have to be cleaned in the HPOP that everyone keeps talking about?

Also, engine code is throwing 1211 ICP fuel pressure above/below desired level. Anyone know how to fix this? Is it caused by the Edge or larger turbo?

Most likely caused by the edge...

and I have never messed with the screen...
