ok i just bought this completely stock 00 7.3 4x4 ext cab long bed
the pcm was bad so i bought a used known good pcm from a very reputable yard. the prior pcm was chipped but obviously is non existant when bought. i installed the new/used pcm and it started after a few tries. ive gotta give it 1/4-1/2 pedal to get it to start when cold. it has a rough idle (580-712 rpms) and blows white smoke constantly, when im in the throttle it blows more.

i replaced
valve cover gskets,
glow plugs,
internal harnesses,
cps.
oil,
fuel filter,
checked all fuses and relays/diods. all in working order
replaced known bad injectors with remans.

 

Sounds like you have more bad injectors...

Does the white smoke smell like fuel or sweet like coolant?

 

more fuel than anything else from what i remember. iits getting an hd rebuild with a triple plate t/c. ill be able to help out more when it gets our.
