chip vs. tuner
Hey fellas,
Im new to the diesel world and have a few questions. Im currently getting 13-15 mpg and believe me Im light on the pedal (taking it real easy). Ive always heard that diesels are better stronger and cleaner and even better mpg. Believe me after only owning for about a month I see this is true. But, I gotta figure out why my gas mileage isnt that great. No pullin the week i tested my mpg. My 1999 f250 7.3L has a chip in it that gives a permanent 60 hp and when switched gives 90. Ive had it off (or at 60). Ive got 5" exhaust, pretty sure stock intake, no gauges other than stock. Could someone point me in the right direction to getting better mpg while maintaining or even gaining performance.
Thanks,
Shaffer86

Im just goin off stuff that I know about and seen the results, thats just my opinion. Ive only seen the TS 6PO on 94-97 so I have no imput off it, and they didnt make a difference in fuel milage at least not on that truck with 290K.

Haha ok fellas thank you both for the inputs..i have heard good things about the ts 6pos-chip but im worried about the hp being too much for the truck. What would i need to do for the truck to be able to handle more horsesafely. Has 5" exhaust ..stock intake..new leaf springs and shocks but i think theyre just stock. Maybe just a little beefier. Thanks again for your responses
