E4OD Problems??

Default E4OD Problems??

my truck 97 F350 Powerstroke auto with the E4OD trans when i was backing it in yesterday stopped and wont move the OD light is flashing and the transmision Fluid is a like dark grey metallic color if i put it in drive or Reverse it feels like it wants to move but wont and i noticed a rumble at low RPM on my way home yesterday? any ideas would be great i think its the Torque converter but im not sure how to tell and i dont know much about automatic transmissions to be honest but any help would be great Before i go buying a Built up TC for God only knows how much!

Anytime the OD light is flashing, a code has been stored. Might want to find out that code and that will help you diagnose the issue further.

its throwing a tranny code, im not %100 sure on this, but it could be in limp mode and the tranny is about to go.

fluid dark grey metalic color, how does it smell, if it smells like burnt crayons all the signs looking toward a rebuild.
up in central massachusetts, just had a 4r100 rebuild for around 1500$ they pulled it and popped it back in. shifts better than new. if your from around mass pm me and ill shoot you the number of the shop

Thanks to a lot of the guys on here I found out their is a lot of problems with the E40D and the guy that overhauled mine is a Master Ford Tech and told me the torque converter had issues from the factory and the fact Ford used to small of a tranny cooler caused a lot of the demise. Get ahold of racerX those guys are great and they will go out of their way to help you and the quality plus customer service makes it all worth while. RACER X USA
